About this app

With GPS Race Timer you can measure the acceleration times of your vehicle.

The app supports drag races such as 1/4 mile races or speed-based races such as 100 - 200 km/h and can measure up to two times per race.
The app is designed so that it does not have to be operated while driving, everything can be set up in standstill.
The measurements are then performed automatically.
You can save the race results locally on your phone for later access.
The predefined timer settings are: 60 ft, 1/8 mile, 1/4 mile, 1/2 mile, 1 mile, 0 - 60 mph, 0 - 120 mph, 50 - 75 mph 60 - 120 mph, 0 - 100 km/h, 0 - 200 km/h, 80 - 120 km/h and 100 - 200 km/h, but you can also adjust these timers to your needs.

How to use the app:
Check the timer settings on the start screen. If they are okay, place your phone in your car so that it has good GPS reception and does not move too much, then you can start the acceleration test.
You can adjust the timer configuration in the settings screen. Then go back to the race screen and follow the instructions above.

This app has never worked correctly. I've tried it on three different Android devices, and gone through every troubleshooting solution available. In every case, it either fails to start, starts on its own, or simply gives a wildly inaccurate reading. Perhaps this is just a limitation of the gps abilities of smart phones.

I've had this installed for a while but finally gave it a try today. Wanted to test some different maps on my car and just can't take the data seriously. Was mainly trying to do 0-60 runs and found that by the time you safely slow down it's already too late to "save" the run. 0-60 times didn't seem accurate from run to run. My car definitely can't do 0-60 in 3 seconds flat. LOL Also would sometimes get an 1/8 mile time but no 0-60. I did like 10 runs total. Only 5 were saved. Im uninstalling.

This didn't work. I had a full GPS signal, the current & max speed were running ok, but the timer in 0 - 60 mode didn't work. Both readings (time & speed) stayed at zero. Ran the car up to 72 mph with the sound alert on. No readings, no sound through 60 mph. Tried it with both modes on (0 - 60 & quarter mile) and just 0 - 60 mode on. Pressing reset didn't seem to work and tried closing and reopening the app. Nothing. A waste of time & fuel.

Hi, indeed we found a bug in version 1.61. Races from standstill were only measured once per app start. Version 1.72 will be available in a couple of days and fix that problem.

What's new

- Export / import of your runs to a csv file which can be accessed via the internal file system of your phone
- Some general stability improvements
- Note: Please make sure that the mobile phone does not move in the car during the starts. This would distort the results.
