Your notes belong where you will see them
Most note apps put your thoughts behind an icon and trust you to go looking. If you have ADHD, out of sight really is out of mind, and a note you have to go find is a note you already lost.
todono posts every note into your notification shade as an ongoing reminder. It sits there on your lock screen while you get on with your day, and it stays until you are done with it. If one ever goes missing, the app puts it back.
THREE KINDS OF NOTE
● Text. Type it, and it is in the shade. If the note has a link in it, the notification gets an Open button that takes you straight to the browser.
● Checklist. Tick items off with the ✓ Next button without opening the app at all. Done items sink to the bottom, open ones stay on top, and the notification shows you what is left.
● Voice. Record it when typing is too slow. Play and Stop are buttons on the notification, so you can listen without unlocking anything.
CAPTURE IT BEFORE YOU LOSE IT
● Share from any app. Reading something you want to remember? Hit share, pick todono, and the notification appearing in your shade is your confirmation. You never see a form.
● Select any text on your phone and send it here from the selection menu.
● Long-press the app icon for New note or New list, straight into the composer.
NOW, OR LATER
Notes can go up immediately or be scheduled for a date and time. Scheduled ones wait quietly and show up when they are due. You can see everything that is still coming under Scheduled notes.
IT COMES BACK
Phones restart, and Android kills apps in the background whenever it feels like it. This is where most reminder apps quietly fail, and it is where todono spends the most effort. After a reboot or a system cleanup, it compares what should be on your screen against what actually is, and puts back anything that went missing. The same check runs every hour while the app is closed.
NOTHING IS REALLY GONE
Deleting a note moves it to a Deleted tab instead of destroying it. Swipe to put it back, with its schedule intact if it had one. Permanent deletion exists, and it is the only thing in the app that asks you twice.
WHAT IT DOES NOT DO
There is no account to make and no sign-up screen. No ads and no tracking. Nothing gets uploaded anywhere, because there is nowhere to upload it to: your notes are on your device and stay there. The whole app works in airplane mode.
Free, with no paid tier and nothing locked away.
