Free, live flight tracker and flight status app from FlightAware for Android!

This app allows you to track the real-time flight status and see the live map flight track of any commercial flight worldwide and general aviation (private, charter, etc) in the United States and Canada.

Track by aircraft registration, route, airline, flight number, city pair, or airport code. Tracking data includes complete flight details and full-screen maps with NEXRAD radar overlay.

Receive real-time push notification flight alerts, view airport delays, see nearby flights (in the sky overhead), and more!

Permission to access your Contacts is used only when you choose to create a flight alert to be sent to another person. We do not store or transmit your contacts list in any other way.

Super powerful if you want to notified, by push notification, email to yourself, or email to someone else, about any event of a specified flight. It's also the only app I could find that does this without having to get a paid subscription. Only feedback is that the default ("classic") map type in the "Nearby me" tab is just really low resolution, which lead me to change to the "street" map type, which is essentially Google Maps, but it isn't designed or optimized to have a flights overlay.

Whenever I heard or saw a plane going overhead, I'd check the app to see where it's going to or coming from and see what the weather is like for any given destination. It appears the weather conditions aren't there anymore....Too many planes show up that aren't really there and don't even fly here, Africa One, Chinese flying dragon airlines, after a Google search those are local airlines in China and Africa. Tapping on them obviously comes up "retrieval failed"

This app has become inconvenient to use due to the increased security features. I have no confidential information on the app. Why does it have THREE step verification? It's easier to log into my bank account at this point. If I only had to log in once, I would not have bothered complaining about it, but I have to go through THREE step verification nearly every time I use it.
