Nonograms Katana: Sharpen your mind!

Nonograms, also known as Hanjie, Griddlers, Picross, Japanese Crosswords, Japanese Puzzles, Pic-a-Pix, "Paint by numbers" and other names, are picture logic puzzles in which cells in a grid must be colored or left blank according to numbers at the side of the grid to reveal a hidden picture. The numbers are a form of discrete tomography that measures how many unbroken lines of filled-in squares there are in any given row or column. For example, a clue of "4 8 3" would mean there are sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, in that order, with at least one blank square between successive groups.
To solve a puzzle, one needs to determine which cells will be boxes and which will be empty. Determining which cells are to be left empty (called spaces) is as important as determining which to fill (called boxes). Later in the solving process, the spaces help determine where a clue (continuing block of boxes and a number in the legend) may spread. Solvers usually use a dot or a cross to mark cells they are certain are spaces.
It is also important never to guess. Only cells that can be determined by logic should be filled. If guessing, a single error can spread over the entire field and completely ruin the solution.

Ratings and reviews

While the game itself is enjoyable, some ads are completely FUBARed. Case in point, a game called two dots completely messes up the game and will not allow you to progress the game further. I decided to let the ad run until I picked up my phone again. THREE HOURS LATER..... the ad still had not finished (so much for the 30 seconds). A 5 star rating is not warranted, while ads like this keep causing such problems. I would not recommend this app to anyone as long as this problem exists.

Excellent nonogram/picross game with plenty of different types of games and difficulties to choose from. There are both colour and monochrome puzzles, and user submitted levels. It also has the least intrusive advertising of any mobile game I've played, there are no mandatory video ads at all. To my surprise there is also an "Adventure Guild" and dungeon mechanic, fuelled by rewards from solving levels. I reccomend visiting the guild first thing, as my EXP wasn't counted until I had visited.

Love the games. Used to be great, minimal non-invasive ads. As soon as they started having ads with audio that autoplays, I uninstall. I like to play games while listening to audiobooks. Have ads, that's fine. I'll put my phone down and ignore it. But the second you start eating into my peace with audio when all my game audio settings are off, it's so jarring and I will now uninstall. Bring it back to how it was with video ads with no autoplay audio.
