After playing in Realm 151 (Now merged) for a solid 10+ months and getting to a 120m might level 30 castle without spending a penny, I think It's about time to write a review. The gameplay itself is alright, it's easy to learn what to do and the graphics look good as long as you don't zoom in on them. The chat has constant bugs, but they are bearable enough. I like how creating an alliance is free, unlike other games. The personal mail could be improved as the messages stack upwards while the bar you type in stays at the bottom, which is irritating for long conversations. I do feel like the game could perhaps be a bit more optimised towards mobile devices as my game freezes up for a few seconds whenever a large battle takes place, while the PC based player enjoys little to no lag; a bit unfair. The game is also more than a little pay to win. I get that this is necessary for the game to be free to install, but Gameloft could at least try give something back to the large playerbase which doesn't spend; Like a 'small' gold reward for reaching castle level 30 without spending or something of the sort, because getting to that without buying packs can be a mite difficult. If have the luxury of being in one of the top 1-5 alliances, you can get plenty of event rewards that let you play as though you spent a little, but given that most top alliances don't accept people who don't buy into the game like they do, most players end up in smaller alliances; scraping along with level 4-6 tiles and getting the top 50 alliance event rewards, if they're lucky. In situations like that, you don't have the gold needed to grow without spending months on a single production, which can and will happen in the later game. Anyway, from what I can see, the game has been constructed to only allow people who spend profusely to prosper, with ridiculous waiting times on things such as Dungeon or Unit Tier upgrades, sometimes bypassing a year in waiting time. There's little hope of speeding that up to a decent tineframe without buying packs, and thus there's little hope of free players waiting that time. Moving on from the pay to win nature of the game, I'd also like to point out that the tutorial/info pages could be a bit more extensive because there are a few things that it doesn't cover. I was a month or 2 into 151 before I realised what the equipment presets could do, although perhaps that's the crippling autism acting up again and not bad game design. I also think that a group message system could be incorporated into the game, as well as perhaps fixing the Throne of Might, as you have an icicles chance in hell of being able to take the throne without putting at least a few hundered into the game, which is a pity because then a single large alliance or two just dominate it and don't let anyone else have a turn, you see the same emperors turn up again and again and they always pick Purge The Realm as a decree, which has no positive effect on 90% of the players in the realm because the resistance bases are stupidly strong and only the largest alliances can even dent them. Another thing that could be added/fixed are tiles. Because most alliances are a bit clingy over tiles, I think the game should have an inbuilt warning if you're about to march on a tile in another alliances land, because plenty of innocent new players get told by that game to harvest a tile and the tutorial picks a random one nearby, disregarding alliance borders meaning that the new players march usually gets obliterated by owners of said tile, which can put them off. Anyway, 7/10 overall.

The newest update has made the game trash, An important mechanic in the game (resistance bases) has made it so it is almost impossible to get gold. Instead of it being a first come first served basis it is now who ever can click the rally button and set a rally faster when the timer runs out. after almost 3 years of playing this game i am deleting it and never looking at it again.

don't get me wrong, it's a great game... the reason I can't give 5 stars, is that too many glitches, bots, and cheaters aren't dealt with quickly, the recent updates have brought bundles that really are starting to make Pay2win the only way to compete. it's a great game, but the need for strategy is getting removed slowly with each new bundle. nerf the factions or buff the other troop types. worth playing for sure, great friends can be made it's a nice community.
