Tried it, expecting it to be, at best, 'average' and would need considerable 'editing' to be able to use the scan. Wrong!! It's excellent, text recognition is very good. It also recognised text in logos - such as logos containing colours, diagrams and texts not in 'regular' text form, in some cases in words in two-three lines. So 5⭐ is a must, but I am also sure it will be improved, a two-option app, the OCR scanner plus a standard, full scan to PDFs or Word. Thanks team, makes life simpler now!

This worked well for a long time, albeit with ever increasing adverts. Now saying "Your free trial has ended. Please upgrade to the paid version." Upgrade=£8/$10? No! Upgrading to the free and ad-free Text Fairy app instead. Update: Text Fairy is a bit more complex to use, but works great, free, no ads, no data link needed. Uninstalling Text Scanner, which is now utter junk.

The app works well, but is only a free trial with 30 free scans. That wouldn't be too much of an issue, but it brings up ads after every scan, which is aggravating for a trial. Just let people use it for free but with ads, or have a limited trial without ads (and be open about it being a trial). Combining them just left a bad tase in my mouth, because otherwise I'd have happily given a higher review even for this trial.
