I've been using the workaway app for about a week now and am loving it. My husband and I signed up with workaway on our laptop, and we definitely think the couple membership cost is worth the investment. I would recommend this app to those who have a diverse travelling pallet and want to live frugally in other countries.

The ratio between workawayers and host is quite bad, too few host. The response rate is low and when there's a response. They say something like, ''we are too full'' or ''there is only female housing remaining''. I used workaway in the past(5+ years ago), it worked ok as the ratio was good, but now it has gotten worse. As it feels like the job hunting process but in a scarce job market. For 50 dollars, it's almost a scam. As other services charge about half of that and offer equivalent or more

This app is one of the slowest, clunkiest built apps to exist. It feels like I'm just using a web browser. If you click on ANYTHING it has to load the entire page before you can back out of it. So don't click anything by mistake lol. Then sometimes you have to straight up restart the app because it gets stuck infinitely loading. I've never seen an app that is this bad, honestly. It's a shame because for what it is, it's a great program, but the UI here just sucks so bad, it's frustrating to use.
