Ratings and reviews

I think of these sorts of games from two perspectives. The first is the design of game play. In this sense, the game is pretty good. Probably 4 out of 5. The tower abilities and how they interact with each other is interesting. The hero abilities and how they interact with each other and the towers is as well. Each world has enough variation in levels to keep you on your toes in terms of tactics. The other perspective is what I call cash grab. Free to play games have to have a source of revenue, of course, so there has to be some incentive for players to spend some money. A game that rates positively on the cash grab scale is one where you can legitimately play and enjoy the game in an ongoing way without spending money. Purchases just enhance an already good experience. This game has levels that could legitimately stop you in your tracks for months. You would have to log in two or three times a day to slowly build up the resources and currently to get past it, but you would essentially be dead in your tracks for that time. If you don't mind playing a pretty well designed game that will do anything to get your money, then this is the game for you. If you like a degree of decency and integrity in your games, then pass this one and try something else.

I really really like the gameplay and its challenges. but I just can't deal with the unprecedented pauses in the middle of each and every stupid ad. I watch an ad and the stupid ad doesn't even play all of a sudden and just stays there. I can't leave the ad or anything. If you expect people to want to play your game, fix these weird bugs, please.

Took a long break from this game due to issues with not receiving items I paid for BUT 4 years later, all those issues have been resolved and the updates look great. My only issue now is how much I want to play the new worlds but the difficulty made a huge jump that my heroes can't keep up with. Don't know if I have the patience to spend a year grinding through old levels with basically no rewards to catch up and I invested too much money to just reset my account which automatically signs in.
