Ratings and reviews

Graphics are fantastic. But I was hoping for nostalgic simple graphics like AoE2, this is a totally different game. Tons of cut scenes, which you can't turn off, fights seem to be in arenas. The story dictates how you play, rather than an open map. It seems they have spent too much on the look and feel, than in recapturing the characteristics of the original game. Its not what I was looking for, disappointed, and uninstalled.

So slow I uninstalled. The game itself is slower than a dead man crawling. There's a lot to do, but it takes forever. 2x Battle feels like 0.5x speed. Exploration is slow. Moving is slow. There's an annoying bouncing arrow tutorial that is way too long. However, sales offers pop up fast as light. If everything else moved as fast as the pop ups appearing, the game would be a lot better. As is, this game looks great, but hits the "meh" spot. So many other faster base builders out there.

I was so excited, I thought at last they had released the classic age of empires game for mobile devices. However, even though they have the same name, it's needlessly overcomplicated and filled with unnecessary tasks, dialogue, linear gameplay and visual scenes. I wish it could have been just like the classic, that's a game I would have paid for, and I know I'm not the only one
