Sardine Shield's core functionality is Caller ID, spam detection, and blocking and Anti-SMS phishing.

= SMS & Call Log usage =
Sardine Shield requests RECEIVE_SMS, READ_SMS, READ_CALL_LOG and RECEIVE_WAP_PUSH strictly for real-time scam protection. We scan incoming SMS for phishing URLs and monitor incoming call metadata to detect known scam callers. These permissions are core functionality — without them the app cannot provide SMS/call scam protection. All processing is used only for security; safe/personal content is discarded and malicious indicators may be anonymized to protect other users. We do not sell user data.

Sardine Shield uses Accessibility Services to help protect user from scam and phishing links.
When user taps a link in messaging apps (such as WhatsApp, SMS, or Telegram) that opens in a browser, our app checks the link for potential risks before you interact with it.

For security, links may be sent securely to our servers for verification.
If a link is found to be fraudulent, we alert user and use it to protect other users. Safe or personal links are discarded and not stored.

Accessibility access is used only for scam and fraud detection,
and never to read your personal messages or browsing activity.
We do not sell or share this data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.
Use of Accessibility Services is completely at the user's discretion.
