About this app

The Schlachter 2000 study Bible is characterized by its diverse study aids. With it you can:

- study the Bible thanks to the numerous footnotes and parallel passages (often there are several per Bible verse)
- highlight the text, make personal notes and bookmarks, view them and access them with one click
- Access all your notes from any device (from another tablet, computer or smartphone)
- Search for a specific word in the Bible using the quick search function or limit this search to the Old or New Testament
- find the text passages you have called up in the “history” (ideal when studying the Bible or during a sermon)
- read the Bible in portrait or landscape format and navigate from chapter to chapter
- read in night mode
- adjust the font size as desired

The Bible translation used for the app is Schlachter 2000, from which the New Testament was published in 1999; The processing of the Old Testament was also completed in 2002. The revised Schlachter Bible aims to reproduce the Word of God verbatim and clearly understandable to the reader. This translation is based on the traditional Masoretic Text in the Old Testament and the traditional Greek text of the Reformation in the New Testament, which was also the basis of the old Zurich Bible, the old Luther Bible and the King James Bible. The footnotes provide the literal translation in many places where an analogous reproduction was chosen in the Bible text for reasons of clarity and comprehensibility. If the text has been reproduced verbatim, provide additional explanations where necessary. In addition, where appropriate, other translation options have been given that can deepen the understanding of the passage. The footnotes often also contain factual historical information and references to other statements in Holy Scripture that can shed illuminating light on the meaning of the text. The indication of Bible passages that are related in content, the so-called parallel passages, should also be an aid to Bible study. The aim of the parallel passages is to awaken the joy of reading the Bible and to promote the study of the Holy Scriptures. The parallel passages help to discover the wonderful treasures of the Bible. By comparing certain Bible passages with others, we can discover what the Bible teaches.
