About this app

This app can read and verify the embedded chip in passports and ID cards.

To read a passport:
1) Use the camera to scan the machine readable zone on the data page of your passport or the back of your ID
2) Hold the passport or ID against your device to read the biometric chip
3) The chip information is displayed in the app

The app does not require network connection and can be used offline.

What is the app used for? For businesses this technology is useful for remote onboarding of users and customers, identity verification, and to meet KYC and AML requirements. For compliance and security, nothing beats reading the biometric chip.

Technically very simple and efficiently working app, works like a charm, amazing! My only concern is that I know almost nothing about the company to trust them with my ID documents, fingers crossed they won't leak them🤞 Maybe I am just too paranoid: app store says that it does not store or share, but it does take device IDs.. difficult to understand what that means. But it's google and not dev fault.

Doesn't read the chip. Another app opens when I try to read the chip. Update for clarity: it reads the mrz info with the camera fine then it says to put the passport under the phone to read the rfid chip,as soon as it tries to read it a 3rd party rfid reader application (credit card reader v5.3.4) opens and hijacks the rfid read from your app and closes your app. So, there is some incompatibility between both of your apps. I can record a video if needed for debugging.

After several issues on myUlephone 10 5G, the latest update, finally resolved my scanning issue. Therefore, I've updated my review to reflect this. Thanks very much for keeping the lines of communication open and showing attention to detail in resolving a customer issue. Great job guys. Keep it up 🤩😇

6300 indicates that most likely the camera step did not read the document properly which causes the secure communication with the chip to fail. Try to get a good read of the MRZ zone at the bottom of the data page, by just scanning that part with the camera. Update: Version 1.20 contains a fix that should relieve these types of issues
