Application of the annual Economics Forum, with a multidisciplinary approach whose first edition took place in 2017.
The purpose of the event is to promote scientific debate from the perspective of classical liberalism and free enterprise. In this way, it aims to mobilize and share successful experiences and practices among researchers, professors, students, entrepreneurs and non-governmental organizations, who are interested in themes related to economic freedom, poverty eradication and shared prosperity.
The event has sessions for the presentation of scientific papers and also with the participation of national and international speakers, considered authorities in their fields of research. This year we will have the presence of Rolf Lüders - Economist and Former Minister of Economy of Chile, Bolívar Lamounier - Sociologist and Political Scientist, Alex Padilla - Economist and Director of the Project Exploring Economic Freedom at the Metropolitan University of Denver.
Roberto Salinas - Director of the Center for Latin America - Atlas Network, Johann Graf Lambsdorff - Economist and Creator of the Corruption Perceptions Index, Robert Klitgaard - Professor at Claremont University and Specialist in Economic Development and Corruption, Christian Lohbauer - Professor, Political Scientist , Director of the Council of Agro at Fiesp (Cosag) and VP of the Brazilian Agribusiness Association, Stephen Ezell Vice President of Global Innovation Policy at the Information Technology and Innovation Foundation - ITIF and Marcia Rujner Guimaraes, IP professor at ESPM and CEO at Protective | Intellectual Protection.
Context of the IV Forum
Economic freedom and representative democracy have suffered a succession of hard blows from the COVID-19 pandemic, control and stimulus measures, the difficulty of recovering all links in the production chains and more recently by the Russian invasion of Ukraine, whose economic and geopolitical effects were felt around the world.
In this context, the VI Forum seeks to reflect on the risks, opportunities and alternatives that exist for Brazil and Latin American countries in the current context to move towards more productive, inclusive, open, innovative societies under the aegis of the rule of law and monetary and fiscal stability.
