The souvenir images, shared during funerals, a first communion or even the first mass celebrated by a young priest, constitute real fragments of personal and collective history. Carefully printed and often included in the missals of the faithful, they served as a visual and spiritual reminder, allowing everyone to remember a loved one or an important event. The backs of these cards, decorated with holy images or prayers, added a spiritual dimension which made them objects of devotion as well as of memory.

These images, often considered obsolete, are at risk of disappearing, which is why the IFHG, Friborg Institute of Heraldry and Genealogy, has set itself the goal of saving as many of them as possible.
