About this app

Antimicrobial resistance is currently a public health problem worldwide, which continues to increase due to the inappropriate use of antimicrobials in different settings, one of these is during health care.

With the aim of promoting the proper use of antimicrobials, Infectology teachers of the Department of Internal Medicine of the National University of Colombia have developed this application as a practical consultation tool, aimed especially at health personnel who in their practice daily may be involved in the processes of prescription, administration or control of antimicrobials.

The application contains general recommendations for the diagnosis and use of antimicrobials in the most common infectious diseases (community-acquired pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, etc.). The application has been prepared based on the Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG) available to date, with a local focus, so some of the recommendations must be interpreted and adapted to the geographic location of the reader. Likewise, the recommendations described in this application may not be applicable to all patients, so its content does not replace a rational clinical approach taking into account the context and individual characteristics of each patient.
