The purpose of this app is to streamline the traditional, paper-based, descriptive inventory process utilized by moving companies and also convert it to a digital procedure. Once a shipment is created for a customer, the app user can create unique QR code based labels to be printed and adhered to household or commercial goods such as furniture or cartons. Workers can be assigned to a shipment so they are able to access that shipment on the mobile app while on the job site. Workers can begin scanning the QR code labels, associating them with an item. Descriptions, characteristics, exceptions, condition, photos, and notes can all be entered to create a detailed permanent record of that specific item and its condition. Workers can proceed to simultaneously scan all labels, building a complete descriptive inventory of goods for that customer. This inventory serves as a record of items packed, loaded, transported, delivered, etc. This record can be viewed by the company and also by the customer via web-based customer portal. A PDF summary can also be generated for printing or emailing to appropriate parties. A company user can create custom shipment types with various stages. During each stage, the company user can decide if all items must be scanned and accounted for in order to move on to the next stage and if digital signatures are required by either the customer or job supervisor. The shipment will progress through the defined stages by scanning items and signing off as required, until ultimately the shipment and/or delivery is complete. The inventory supports claims for loss or damage by documenting the condition of an item throughout the process and accounting for its presence during each stage/scan required.
