About this app

Unlock the full potential of your DSLR or mirrorless camera with Arsenal - The Intelligent Camera Assistant.

WHAT IS ARSENAL? Arsenal is the world’s first intelligent camera assistant for DSLR and mirrorless cameras. By combining this mobile app and Arsenal’s ultralight hardware you get complete control over your camera from your smartphone!

NEVER MISS THE PERFECT SHOT: Like your own personal photography assistant, Arsenal lets you focus on the parts of photography you love while it takes care of the rest. In Smart Mode, Arsenal’s machine learning algorithm understands the scene you’re shooting, chooses smart settings, and fine tunes them using 18 different environmental factors.

GET COMPLETE CONTROL: When you want full creative control, Arsenal’s Manual Mode turns your smartphone into the world’s best wireless camera remote. Set your camera’s shutter speed, aperture, and ISO. See a live preview of your shot. And trigger the shutter... all from up to 100 feet away!

TAKE GREAT SHOTS IN TRICKY LIGHT: Capture scenes with High Dynamic Range (HDR) without spending hours in front of your computer. Arsenal automates advanced exposure stacking techniques, taking multiple exposures and merging them into a single RAW or JPG file on your camera.

KEEP EVERYTHING SHARP: With focus stacking, you can get your entire scene in sharp focus. Arsenal calculates the optimal number of exposures, takes them at different focus positions, and merges them into one crystal clear image on your camera.

CAPTURE STUNNING TIMELAPSES: Arsenal makes capturing “holy grail” timelapses a breeze. Simply start your timelapse and let Arsenal adjust the exposure as the light changes for a smooth day-to-night transition. You can even preview your timelapse while it’s being recorded.

REVIEW AND SHARE INSTANTLY: Review and share the photos on your DSLR or mirrorless camera wirelessly from your phone. Flip through photos instantly, zoom in to see details at full-resolution, and share your favorite shots right from your phone.

WORKS WITH MOST POPULAR CAMERA MODELS: Arsenal fully supports dozens of popular DSLR and mirrorless camera models made by Canon, Nikon, Sony, and Fuji. To see if your camera is supported, visit https://witharsenal.com/supported-cameras.

Let's start with the 10 months of waiting and all the excuses and lies I got from their 'assistant'(?). When it finally did arrive (too late in the season to take advantage of it,... had it ever worked), I admit I was really anxious to see if it could help reduce my time in editing my captures. I'm already an accomplished and published photographer but often spend hours fine tuning and converting HDRs in Lightroom & Photoshop. First thing I did was check for updates, it started and never finished

Update, 3/21/19 - I recently re-tested Arsenal on my gear (Canon 5D Mk II and Android phone) and there have been improvements in network connection and in functionality. It appears the engineers have been diligently fixing many of the issues. Also, the support staff have responded to my concerns in a timely manner now... there are still some remaining issues with speed and with focus, however. Original assessment: Bottom line: over-promised and under-delivered. I was an original Kickstarter subscriber two years ago and the device, (when it worked at all) has never worked adequately. I simply gave up, and I am a geek with 20 years of software experience... I know they are trying, but it seems they just don't have the chops to make this work. Sorry I wasted my money on this. My recommendation (if you have a Canon) is to go with Magic Lantern, which adds far more additional functionality to your camera and performs brilliantly.

Hi Edward, our apologies for the poor experience. We've made a number of improvements in the last six months. Have you tried out the latest version of Arsenal (0.9.50)? Please email us at help@witharsenal.com and we can help you troubleshoot or facilitate a return of the device for a full refund. Thanks!

After pre-ordering the product, and several substantial delays in delivery, I finally received the device. I excitedly opened the packaging and began what I thought would be a simple setup. After hours of trouble shooting I finally found a combination of workarounds that allowed me to connect my PC to the device to preform the required firmware update. After the update and more hours of troubleshooting, I found that neither my phone, nor my wife's phone could connect directly to the device via this app. To get our phones to connect we had to manually connect to the devices wifi signal, then force close and reboot the app. Once connected, the app seemed to work, however there is one giant flaw, upon pressing the "take photo" button, I'm not given my beautiful photograph but instead an error message "please turn dial to 'A'" regardless of which setting or shooting mode my camera is set to. I am 100% displeased with this product and can only hope Arsenal and their team are at least kind enough to offer a full refund of my pre-order plus shipping of this useless product I wished I'd never ordered.
