**EDIT ** You could add a persistent notification in the time stamper, this would stop android from killing it off **EDIT** Weird, I installed this because Camera auto timestamp has the annoying habit of just stopping, you'll go to take a photo in the middle of the day and it won't get time stamped.. You have to run auto timestamp again, agree that it'll stamp your photos and it'll be working again.. Almost like android 8 is turning it off, I installed the helper because it says it'll run time stamper and then your default camera.. But every time I run it, it says I need to install camera auto timestamp and sends me to the play store which shows I have it already installed.. Any help or ideas.. Anyway to make the auto stamp a system app that android doesn't kill off.

This is because your camera auto timestamp is not the latest version. You need to uninstall camera auto timestamp and reinstall the latest version then the it should work.
It is not possible to make the camera auto timestamp a system app because only the phone maker can decide what apps are system apps.

This is because the phone turns off background processes to save power. You will probably find the same issues with other similar apps.
