At the very outset, we salute the heroic martyrs and activists of the July August public uprising, whose enormous sacrifices have enabled us to remove the shackles of autocracy. It was a momentous turning point in our history, which has grasped the admiration of the whole nation and set us on the right track to introduce reforms under the dynamic leadership of Nobel Laureate Prof.

Mohammad Yunus. We envisage a society free of discrimination, oppression and corruption in order to achieve our unrealized dreams of a truly democratic nation. The health sector of the country has also gained a new momentum.

As professionals, we are eagerly looking forward to discuss the recent advances in pulmonology for promotion of holistic health care. This is imperative in view of the ravaging effects of the COVID-19 pandemic and climate change on lung health which may lead to far reaching deleterious effects on human health. In this context, Bangladesh Lung Foundation is organizing the 8th International Conference on Lung Health- PULMOCON 2025 on 18-21 February, 2025 at the Bangabandhu International Conference Center (BICC), situated in the center of Dhaka, the vibrant capital of Bangladesh. The theme of this year’s conference is “New beginning – New Possibilities: Launching Lung Health 2.0′

We are sketching an all-encompassing scientific program which will enable participants to comprehend the present challenges and assimilate the latest breakthroughs in the management of respiratory illnesses. State of the art approaches to Airway and Parenchymal Diseases, emerging respiratory infections, Sleep disorders, Interventional pulmonology and novel diagnostics will be expounded. Pragmatic trajectories to combat environmental pollution and tobacco menaces will be highlighted. The recent developments in the fight against TB, with emphasis on DR TB, Latent TB Infection (LTBI) and Post TB Lung Disease (PTLD) will be elucidated. A wide variety of other contemporary themes have also been furnished.

We have invited a constellation of eminent pulmonologists and professionals in various allied fields to join the conference. It will provide participants with an excellent opportunity to have thorough discussions with the invited faculty and creating an excellent global network.
