About this app

The Philharmonie de Paris presents The Birds of the Philharmonic, a narrative experience in augmented reality.

The facades of the Philharmonie, designed by Jean Nouvel, are covered with clouds of aluminum birds in various shapes and shades. What if these birds, among all the species that pass through the Parc de la Villette, came to life and left us with words and sounds in their wake?

This augmented reality experience unfolds the story of their seasonal life cycle in three chapters. Through the flapping of their wings and their gentle ballet, the birds of the Philharmonie invite us to take our time. Time to observe a dance in the sky, a natural and imperceptibly familiar symphony. The sounds that accompany their flight encourage the imagination and compose a dreamlike ornithology, revealed by the graphic universe of the application.

Nina Chalot and Cyril Teste, in close collaboration with Studio Blinkl and on an original sound creation by the duo NOORG (Loïc Guénin and Éric Brochard), invite us to stop and rediscover the wonder at the poem that nature offers us every day.

The Nest – Summer 2023
Here comes the summer. Birds come from afar to make their nests on the canopy of the Philharmonie. They regroup and are more and more numerous.

The birds of the Philharmonie is an acquisition of the Philharmonie de Paris, a work by Cyril Teste and Nina Chalot developed by the Blinkl studio on a sound creation by the duo NOORG (Loïc Guénin and Éric Brochard).
