Palermo city mobility

Available functions:
- Management of a single purse with which you can make the purchase of all AMAT products (Bus ticket, Tolled parking, ZTL Pass) and those that will be subsequently released.

- purchase of different types of bus and tram tickets.

- validation of tickets, purchased through the app, which generates a travel document
viewable in QRCode format to be shown at a possible control.

- ZTL management

- activation of a tolled parking for a specific license plate in a specific area.
If not previously interrupted by the user, the stop has a specific duration
from the available credit and, in any case, the maximum duration is 12 hours after which, if necessary, it will have to be reactivated.

Ratings and reviews

I was initially loath to try the app because of all the bad reviews but needing a city car pass in Palermo and failing to find anywhere that sold them I resorted to downloading the app. It was actually fairly straightforward to register as someone from the UK, if you are not Italian you register as foreign, then to top up with a credit card and use to buy a daily car pass for use in the city centre.

It works, but it's frustrating. I downloaded the app, bought tickets from it but the bus driver didn't recognize it and the lady at the ticketing office at a tram station also didn't know what to do with it. but what we needed to do was to scan the QR code on the bus/ tram via the app and the tickets were validated, and recognised by the ticket inspector. the app is a great idea, but the fact that few staff are equipped to help / guide you on how to use it is an obstacle.

How is this the official app for a public mobility service?! 1) you need an Italian tax code to register an account 2) you can't pay for the tickets you buy, you have to precharge some amount of money and use that. You can only charge integer amounts, no ticket costs a round amount so you always have to charge some extra credit. 3) It doesn't remember your card details, not integrate with any card manager, so you need to type everything all the time
