About this app

!!! SafeZone app is only available at organizations using the SafeZone solution !!!

SafeZone connects you directly to your organization's response team when you need help.

When you are in any SafeZone area designated by your organization, you will be able to:
• get help in an Emergency,
• get help when you or someone near you needs First Aid,
• contact the response team for Help in less urgent situations,
• Check-In to share your status with the response team when working alone, access safety tips and advice relevant to your location, and
• receive Emergency Notifications and guidance during critical incidents.

The SafeZone service is specific to geographical areas that have been defined by your organization. You can find out what areas are covered by tapping the "Regions" menu item in the app. When you raise an Alert (Emergency, First Aid or Help), response team members will be alerted to your situation and location so that they can coordinate to help you quickly and effectively.

SafeZone will operate at any location, however if you press and Alert button when you are outside one of the defined areas, your app will tell you you're outside the SafeZone area and offer you a single-tap call to the local emergency services number.

Where your organization provides safety shuttle buses, you can also see the real-time bus locations inside SafeZone.

See www.safezoneapp.com for more information, including our user guide and FAQ.

app is becoming increasingly dated. its way too large (70mb for a button?), slow and unintuitive. it still works effectively but i think its time SafeZone considers a ground up rebuild of the app into a more modern and lightweight app people are happy to have sit on their phone for months with only occasional usage.

Thanks for the feedback! We understand that not all users take advantage of all the features of the app so it's easy to think of it as "just a button". UPDATE: We've now released Android App Bundle support which drops the size to around 45MB!

Initially when I selected "Information", I got a "Web page not available" error. It took me a while to work out that the app didn't have network permissions - it would make sense to raise a specific error message about that. Also, it seems broken for the app to rely on access to a web page instead of having information within the app.

Good morning, thanks for the feedback above. I have updated our FAQ page to show the need for network access more clearly & there is a configuration change which can be applied to update the error message. We will discuss this with your organisation. If you could submit a ticket to support@criticalarc.com you can follow our updates on this.

Doesn't work as it thinks it's being optimised when it isn't. When trying to use the check in feature, it asks me to turn off battery optimisation for this app by clicking on the settings button on the notification. When I click that, I get a list of apps but the SafeZone app is not in there. I deactivated optimisation via the system settings and tryed again but I get the same error. So there doesn't seem to be a way to tell the app that it isn't being optimised which means it doesn't work.

Hi there! After clicking the "Settings" button and being presented with an (empty) list of apps, you will need to change the list from "Optimised" To "Not Optimised" (or similar) and then search for "SafeZone". The exact steps are different depending on the model and OS version. If you still have issues let us know at support@criticalarc.com.
