If you don't have an iPhone, good luck. I tried connecting my Pinguino EL295HLWFKC-3AL unit to my WiFi, but couldn't. I dusted off an old 2.4ghz router, and I could still not get the device connected to WiFi. I tried multiple devices, and every device made me sit through a fake loading screen, only to be presented an error. The error message only told me to reset my device, which also didn't work. I ended up downloading the iOS app on an iPhone, and it connected on the first try.

Alas, I cannot give a ZERO stars.1.7 is too high a rating. Had it connected and working once AFTER 3 HRS OF TRYING, but next time I opened app, it showed no devices. WTH, it didn't save my setup???Using Galaxy S8, I am unable to get thru setup again. I see from reviews that others are having the same problem. Delonghi...you have a great Climate Control unit here...IMPROVE YOUR APP! Until then, it's just another entry level manual control unit

Only works on 2.4 which nobody uses.............. Here is what's important to understand, it's not your phone that's having the issues. If your router is unable to be switched to a 2.4 GHz channel then this is useless. I run 1 gig internet, (extremely fast) and I have a router that auto optimizes the frequency according to use and flow so I get s stable experience. This is not new nor is it uncommon. The fact that this is being marketed as "smart" is a joke. It's 2020 get with the program.
