About this app

Q-Ton represents a unicum within the panorama of heat pumps.

Designed for the production of domestic hot water at high temperatures, the machine differs from competing products thanks to the refrigerant fluid it uses: carbon dioxide CO2.

Non-flammable, non-toxic and with a GWP = 1, CO2 presents itself as the perfect refrigerant fluid in a regulatory context that imposes increasingly severe restrictions on gases dangerous for the greenhouse effect and stringent parameters for new low-impact refrigerants but characterized by slight flammability.

The ad-hoc designed compressor and heat exchanger allow delivery temperatures to be reached in a range of 60-90°C without any aid from electric heaters. This application aims to provide technical support during the initial dimensioning of the system, the search for the best performance and return on investment.

Depending on four different parameters pertaining to the external ambient temperature and the temperatures of the mains water, machine production and user use, values are returned regarding how many units to foresee to satisfy the daily requirement and how much accumulation volume to foresee to cope with peak loads. Finally, it is possible to compare the estimated amount of Q-Ton operating costs with those of a boiler of different types: although some data are already pre-compiled in accordance with an average value that can be found in a generic context, full freedom is left to the user to modify these parameters so as to optimize the hypothesis of economic return in his specific case.

In the search for the best possible operation of the machine, there is also a section entirely dedicated to the trend of coefficients such as COP, thermal capacity supplied and electrical power absorbed as the ambient temperature, the network temperature and the DHW production temperature set on the machine vary .

The interactive legend and the possibility of sharing graphs allow immediate and simple reading of the data.
