This feels like a spiritual successor to Battle for Bikini Bottom. You're limited strictly to SpongeBob as a playable character, but he's got a bunch of new abilities. So the combat stays feeling fresh enough throughout. The graphics look great and the whole game has a cinematic feel. Controller support is also flawless and worked without any configuration. The developers clearly put a lot of work into making this game feel like a true sequel to an OG classic. I think they succeeded.

Great game with funny dialogue and many references to the show. My only complaints are sometimes the dialogue can overlap, cut off, or glitch out. The game also becomes very laggy at higher resolutions (I picked High for optimal performance). I have a Google Pixel 6A (might be the reason). The game also stutters randomly (especially when loading in new areas while playing, which caused me to die a few times. Overall, it's a fantastic game despite the performance and audio issues.

Even though the performance and gameplay is great on my s24 Exynos, there is some problem with depth precision for far objects in the game. When I climb to a higher altitude in the game, there is some weird artifacting among colliding surfaces life shores and water textures, mountains and shadows, then the fences and do not touch signs on them. As if the game doesnt know, which surface should be above and which one below. The textures at those specific places keeps flicker or shimmer as I move.
