About this app

*Important Notice* - Old app, but it can still work perfectly - if given the permissions it needs (see below). It's still being actively used by more than 40,000 people, me, my family & friends included :)
--
This app was built long ago, and I don't plan to update the app in the foreseeable future. It's a free app without trying to make money from it, so I can't afford to maintain it any longer. I do answer emails still.
--
to let the app trigger an alarm while in the background, please go to App Info (long tap on the app) and do the following:
(1) battery optimisation: opt this app out (optimisation OFF)
(2) advanced: Appear on top: turn ON
(3) test it: set timer for 10 seconds, start it and exit the app. If the alarm rings - you're set. If not - there may be variations of the above for your specific phone. Please try allowing other permission that may be relevant.

If you need a Large and simple Countdown Timer, Timesolutely lite is the app for you.
It is a very high quality short Interval Timer and Quick Alarm with very large digits.

The app was designed in particular for these use cases:

- As speakers' timer in presentations, lectures or debate club: The screen won't turn off while you speak.
- Real world timed games with friends, where each player has a time limit to complete a turn.
- To limit children's play or TV time, to allow taking fair turns and to educate about the meaning of time.
- In the kitchen: Very quick and easy to set and start, or pull previous session from history using the Rollback button.
- During exercise: Can run in the background, so you to can enjoy other apps in parallel.
- Taking naps: You can set to wake up at specific time of day, or after a specified time length. There's also a snooze button.
- For taking medication: Just enable the "Replay" button on the alert, and let it alert every 8 hours for example.
- For quick reminders: Set, for example, 1 hour with a 5 minutes early warning.

Limitations: this app does not include stopwatch and cannot measure more than 99 hours. It can run only one session at a time.

Main Features:

āœ” Very large digits, readable from a distance
āœ” App Widget
āœ” Early Warning notification
āœ” History rollback button
āœ” Snooze & Repeat Buttons on the Alert
āœ” Proximity sensor - prevents wake up in the pocket
āœ” Ergonomic

ATTENTION:
- Make sure to add my app to the white list of any app that optimize battery life or deep sleep.

A simple, easy-to-use app that doesn't need any intrusive access. Just basic, not many bells or whistles. Would not have any other timer app on my phone. update: Apparently NOW we need access to sensitive files. I have discontinued Google version and reduced rating from 5 stars to 3.

The alarm didn't always sound off at the right time. Was reading while I wait for something I was cooking and I wanted to check it at certain intervals so I used a countdown timer. Edit: A really prompt response as well as a quuck solution! After a bit of testing, that fixed the issue and all is well. And yes I did see the solution was already at the description (but only after the fact), just didn't seem like an app were I NEEDED to look at its info. (The food didn't get burned fyi)

Hi, this is caused by new battery saving feature for Android. Please go to battery settings and mark my app as "do not optimise", and it will solve the problem. Note that my app doesn't actually use any battery while working in the background.

WAS excellent: the ONLY app I could find that allows you to set an amount of time or a specific time of day. (I'm amazed no one else has thought of this obvious requirement). However it is not working properly on Android 11 with sound alarms failing. So basically useless. I would have paid. Also you can no longer open the app by tapping on the widget.
