By Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Taymi al-Bakri, better known as Ibn al-Jawzi

Enjoy reading the book "The News of Fools and Idiots" by Ibn al-Jawzi with the best offline book app and many other features.

The book "The News of Fools and Idiots" recounts many stories of jurists, commentators, narrators, hadith scholars, poets, scholars, writers, teachers, merchants, and groups connected to heedlessness for a solid reason.

The book addresses the topic of fools and idiots. Ibn al-Jawzi divided it into twenty-four chapters. He distinguished between foolishness and explained its meaning, mentioned the names of fools and their characteristics, warned against their company, and pointed out the examples of foolishness and heedlessness. He also mentioned a group of rational people who committed foolish acts but persisted in them, approving of them, and through this persistence, became fools and idiots.

He then moved on to discuss the neglected reciters and Qur'an reciters. He then mentioned the neglected narrators of hadith, princes, and loyalists. He also mentioned the neglected judges, scribes, chamberlains, muezzins, imams, Bedouins, and pedants. He also mentioned the neglected poets who recited poetry. He then discussed the neglected storytellers, preachers, ascetics, and teachers. He concluded the book with a chapter on the stories of the neglected in general.

Author:
Ibn al-Jawzi, Abu al-Faraj Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi al-Hasan Ali ibn Muhammad al-Qurashi al-Taymi al-Bakri, was a Hanbali jurist, hadith scholar, historian, and theologian (d. 510 AH/1116 CE - 12 Ramadan 597 AH). He was born and died in Baghdad. He enjoyed widespread fame and a prominent position in public speaking, preaching, and writing, and he also excelled in many sciences and arts. His lineage goes back to Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr al-Siddiq. He was known as Ibn al-Jawzi because of a walnut tree that once stood in his house in the town of Wasit. There was no other walnut tree in the town, and it was also said that it was named after "Fardat al-Jawz," the port of the Basra River.

- Arabs laugh more at the news of fools than they do at the TV series "Friends." I said this once in a gathering.
This week, I said I would test my Arabic. I laughed in many places, praise be to God. After an expository introduction to the story of the Fools' News, he recounts the stories of their fools, categorized according to the categories of fools in the recitation of verses, hadiths, poetry, and other various types of foolishness. I cannot hide from you my surprise at his boldness in presenting some stories that mock religion. It seems we are exaggerating our modesty in the wrong place.

- This book is enjoyable in a way that is difficult to describe. There are books on the level of history and on the level of life. I cannot imagine a reader in the world who loves books and does not read them, and this book is undoubtedly one of them. Human taste in humor varies from one era to another, but there are common human traits that make people laugh at certain situations, regardless of their position in society or history. Historical, literary, and humorous documentation...! It's difficult to compile this in one book. I'm excited to read the rest of Ibn al-Jawzi's books, such as "Akhbar al-Adhkiya" (The News of the Intelligent), "Akhbar al-Zarraf wa al-Mutamajinin" (The News of the Witty and the Foolish), and "Ila al-Bukhala" (The Misers) by al-Jahiz, God willing. Don't miss it, my friends.

- A strange title. Why would a scholar like Ibn al-Jawzi be interested in collecting stories of fools and idiots? That was the question that came to my mind every time I saw the book cover. A question compounded by laziness that made me postpone reading it for years, even though it was in the library. Finally, a miracle happened, and I read it. Ibn al-Jawzi said that he wrote the book to make us reflect on the blessing of reason. How right he was, the book, regardless of its humor, brought joy to my heart. Throughout its reading, I sought refuge in God from foolishness. If I ever acted foolishly, may God conceal it from me, so that I may not be disgraced like those who were disgraced in the book. O God, I seek refuge in You from foolishness, for every illness has a cure, but foolishness has eluded those who can cure it. If anyone ever asks me about this book, I will say, "Discipline, refinement, and reform."

- A wonderful book that conveys the news of fools... writers, imams, judges, and others of all classes, as well as the foolishness of wise people. Ibn al-Jawzi warns against keeping company with fools and idiots. This book is primarily for admonition and reminders, and secondarily for entertainment and laughter. You'll find yourself laughing sarcastically and marveling at the words and actions of fools. You'll discover that you're surrounded by many fools and idiots, even worse.

It's more like a book of jokes and anecdotes... but the interesting thing is that they are true stories, not imaginary ones. Many of the jokes told today are adapted from these stories. I was surprised that Ibn al-Jawzi would write a book like this. It's more like a book of scandals and contains words that we would consider obscene in our time, but it seems they weren't. Overall, the book is entertaining, funny, and full of anecdotes and jokes.
