The Uthmaniyah are the supporters of Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him), those who claim his merits, those who defend him, and those who defend him against the attacks of those who oppose him, including the Shiites, Zaidis, and their parties. They were known by this name in ancient times, and they are a branch of the "Amorites," the followers of Umar ibn Al-Khattab. The Uthmaniyah was the most intensely opposed Islamic political sect to Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), and the Shiites were their fiercest enemies.
The Book of Al-Uthmaniyah, written by Al-Jahiz, is a valuable resource for students of religious, historical, and political issues that arose at the dawn of Islam and the early Islamic states. It is also a great exposition of intellectual debate and argumentation in one of the most prosperous eras of early Islam.
This important book is a valuable resource for students of the history of religions, particularly the historical, political, and social issues related to Islamic sects, particularly their beginnings and the resulting divisions, debates, and intellectual arguments during the period known as the Golden Age of Islamic history.
This book, "Uthmaniyah," appeared at a time of much debate and conflict over religious and political fanaticism, and when the Mu'tazila were at the height of their power and activity. It also appears that intellectual freedom was not subject to the restrictions that would have curbed its ramifications. Al-Jahiz himself, expressing the disappearance of taqiyya and the unleashing of thought, says of "Uthmaniyah," "If I were not certain of the triumph of truth over falsehood, I would not permit myself to conceal it, given the disappearance of taqiyya, the reformation of the times, and the equitable treatment of values."
Author:
Abu Uthman Amr ibn Bahr ibn Mahbub ibn Fazarah al-Laythi al-Kinani al-Basri (159 AH-255 AH) was an Arab writer who was one of the leading figures in literature during the Abbasid era. His significant works are considered a fundamental component of Arab culture. He was born in Basra in 159 AH, according to some historians. He was called al-Jahiz due to his bulging eyes. He also worked as a camel driver for Amr ibn Qala' al-Kinani. Among his attributes were his sharp intelligence, endurance, rigor, and a gifted orator, as well as his intuition and sound judgment. He also possessed his own unique styles, doctrines, and opinions in literature and language. He established a method of composition that bears his name. He was therefore considered a role model and leader among poets of that era, just as Ibn al-Muqaffa was their leader in the first era.

- A book that can be described as unique, rare, and enjoyable in its argumentation, reasoning, and transmission... regardless of its author and the competing opinions about him and his personality. It is a response to the Rafidah and Zaydis, discussing the issue of Imamate and the comparison between Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and the two Imams, Sheikh Abu Bakr and Omar (may Allah be pleased with them).

- In Al-Jahiz's other books, the literary al-Jahiz was present in every book, in his language, commentary, commentary, transmission of poetry and humor, and in letters of advice and assistance. However, in this book, I found a new Amr ibn Bahr. I contemplated Al-Jahiz, the thinker, the one who presented arguments, the one who supported reason, and the one who provided evidence. The book Al-Uthmaniyah is an attempt by Al-Jahiz to respond to the Shiites by applying evidence, reason and logic, by reviewing the historical positions that prove the right of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (may God be pleased with him) over Ali bin Abi Talib (may God honor his face and be pleased with him), by stripping the positions and scrutinizing them, applying reason and using argument in favor of the caliphate of Al-Siddiq. It reviews the historical positions of Abu Bakr and Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with them) with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and refutes some of the Shiite evidence supporting the caliphate of Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) using reason and conclusive evidence. The book's name, "The Uthmanic," comes from a group calling itself the Uthmanic, which advocated for the rightful caliphate of Uthman ibn Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) and refuted Shiite arguments. According to the researcher, Professor Abdul Salam Haroun, this book preceded the famous works of al-Jahiz, such as "Al-Hayawan" and "Al-Bayan," and other books that attest to al-Jahiz's greatness and stature in the history of our Arabic literature.

- May Allah have mercy on al-Jahiz, may Allah have mercy on the Mu'tazila. They excelled in refuting every flaw placed by the Rafidi aggressor against the two sheikhs with rational arguments that are extremely skillful and wise.

- This book contains precious gems and delightful benefits, some of which he has included elsewhere in his books, and some of which you will only find in this book.
