About this app

Polaris is an innovative smart tripod head for mirrorless and DSLR cameras. It’s been designed and built to be compact, portable, and quick to set up. With Polaris, you can remotely control the shooting angle, and preview your shot on your mobile device through WiFi or cellular network*, giving you great flexibility regardless of the distance. With the dedicated app, you can shoot with various programmable functions like time-lapse, panoramic photography, sunset and sunrise planning, etc., In addition, with the optional accessory of Astro kit, you can turn Polaris into a professional equatorial mount, and capture stars easily with the ‘GoTo’ function, and automatically track stars for streak-free long exposures.

Pure insanity .... Creates a wifi, i see it, i connect to it, but the app doesn't want to connect. After looking for answers on the net, found that youhave to disable Mobile data on the phone. After connected to the device, tried to upgrade the firmware, can't because no mobile data(if switched back on, device disconnects from app). Then created a passwoed, and now it says it's wrong. Same with the security question.

Works but needs improvement. Experience with Nikon z9 and 400/2.8 for Astro. 1. After alignment the object will shift to the right after "start tracking". (It will then be tracked reasonably well.) When I realign by the virtual joysticks or used the knobs after stop tracking the object will again drift randomly to the right. 2. Recalibration is hidden in the "help" menu. Should have a button for it. 3. Needs JPEG to view photo and transferring from camera to SD card is quite slow.

Tried many times to get it to work, none a success. 2 phones, an S20 & A53 have the same issue, after calibration, the Polaris doesnt seem to know what its horizontal orientation is, so goto object ends up in an offset direction relative to the direction it was initially facing. We can use the arrows in the App to centre it and it will then track ok. We're using the sun as target and it usually ends up nowhere near often 90-180deg out so have no confidence of finding a star or planet with it.
