About this app

alpha vnc lite is a VNC server for android that doesn't require root privileges to view and control your Android device.

alpha vnc lite uses accessibility services to enable operation via mouse and keyboard. All inputs are processed by the VNC server only. No data is being logged, saved or shared in any way. The screen sharing is working also when the accessibility services are deactivated. In that case the VNC session is view-only and remote control is not possible. The service is deactivated by default. You can activate the accessibility service in the settings of your device.

Posterior Android 7 (Nougat), there are no input restrictions.
- software keyboard is accessible directly
- all systems items are clickable!
- a pointer device (such as a computer mouse) can be used to point & click
- the mouse wheel can be used to scroll up & down
- one finger swipe gestures are supported
- copy text from your local computer & paste to the remote device with Ctrl+V
- screen rotation is handled on orientation change or with the function key: F5

Prior Android 7 (Nougat), there are still some restrictions and their work-around:
- A standard 104 key US keyboard layout is used as keyboard input.
- most items are clickable, but not all. There are minor issues with certain web-browsers and apps.
- The navigation buttons cannot be clicked directly. The following keys are used as shortcuts: 'ESC'-> for back navigation, 'home / pos1'-> trigger home button, 'page up'-> toggle recent apps, 'page down'-> pull down notification bar and 'end'-> call power dialog.

For Android 10 only, the "Auto start" feature is not available!

For more information, please refer to the manual: https://www.abr-solutions.de/alpha-vnc-howto/

In the free version, the session will be disconnected after 10 minutes. Full version can be purchased via in app transaction.

VNC server implementation and functionality has been constantly improving since 2017... Works well with RealVNC viewer (Android & Windows) and other viewer apps. I use it to remotely access my Lenovo Tab410 (Android 7.1.1...now on Android O...) tablet from my phone and desktop. The best (only?) non-root VNC server for Android that I have found that works...and is maintained by the developers over the long term. Kudos.

Honestly, I have to say, the Alpha VNC Lite is one of the best VNC applications I've used, and I have been using Remote Desktop tools from pcanywhere back in DOS days. Love how it connects after you restart the remote client, how the application handles zooming, handle the mouse (with left/right/medium and zoom). Bluetooth keyboard support. Worth every penny.

As a Uber driver, I only wanted this app to mirror my phone to the tablet without rooting my phone. There was annoying thing that Alpha would generate a Class B IP address that you need to connect to, which is very annoying. It would generate a new address every time my phone lost service. Now my phone did an update so it's servi start serving ip's like 192.168.43.1😃 I've tried controlling my phone from my tablet but the mouse controls are not intuitive. I have a high resolution phone and tablet yet I have trouble getting my screens to match up along the top and bottom.

Dear Chris, thank you for the feedback, we are happy to hear that the network configuration is working now. For the screen resolution issues we suggest playing with the pre-scaling settings in the vnc-session settings of the app. Also check if your vnc client has a "fit screen" function which automatically adapts the screen resolution.

What's new

Screen rotation support - The vnc image will automatically rotate when the orientation is changed.
Auto start for Android 11 and above - The auto start feature is now available for devices running Android 11 and higher.
