The Wild Animal Coordinate Recording App (WilKEA) is a service for authorized hunters in Lower Saxony that allows the digital recording of data collected during sampling of a wild boar that has been killed or found dead. WilKEA replaces the paper sample tracking form for wild boars.
The following data can be determined, recorded, and retrieved via WilKEA:
Recording a single wild boar:
- Coordinates of the location where the animal was found or killed
- Animal data (sex, age, weight, etc.)
- Scanning and saving the QR code of the game origin tag
- Information on the collected monitoring sample
- Recording a collected Trichinella sample
- Scanning and saving the barcode of the sampling label
- Retrieving Trichinella test results
- Generating a digital game origin certificate
- Storing hunting area data
Collective recording of multiple wild boars after a driven hunt:
- General information about the hunt (date, departure point, restricted zone, reason for monitoring)
- Animal data (sex, age, weight, etc.)
- Scanning and saving the QR code of the game origin tag
- Scanning and saving the barcodes of the sampling labels
- Storing Trichinosis sampling
- Export function for driven hunting data
Registration in the HIT database is required for use (available from the responsible veterinary office).
