About this app

With the Flight Radio Trainer, student pilots can playfully practice VFR radio procedures and radio theory (BZF I/II, BZF E, AZF). Whether you're a PPL, LAPL, or SPL pilot, the Flight Radio Trainer complements your pilot training. The app supports you in preparing for the The practical part of the exam for the "Restricted Validity Radio Operator's License for Aeronautical Radio Service" (BZF) is also included. However, already trained pilots and other interested parties can also refresh and consolidate their knowledge of VFR aeronautical radio communication with the Aeronautical Radio Trainer.

Users can simulate arrivals and departures at several German and Austrian commercial airports. Radio communication takes place either in German or English. The simulator's interface is very simple: No need to speak aloud! Respond to the radio messages spoken by the app by assembling prefabricated message blocks for the correct transmission.

A simulation of radio navigation procedures is also included in the Aeronautical Radio Trainer. Procedures related to both non-directional beacons (NDB) and rotating beacons (VOR) can be simulated. Five replicas of various navigation instruments are available for this purpose.

The Aviation Radio Trainer also helps with preparation for the theoretical exam. The integrated theory trainer includes the questions published by the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) for the German radio license certificates BZF I and BZF II, BZF E, and AZF. Incorrectly answered questions can be retaken separately, and an exam simulation with random questions and a time limit is also possible!

The app also helps build a vocabulary for communication in aviation English. A vocabulary trainer is available for this purpose, including over 100 aviation-related terms.

Features at a glance:

Air traffic control simulator for VFR procedures (arrivals and departures in German and English)
Theory trainer with the BNetzA* exam questions
Simulation of radio navigation (NDB and VOR)
Quiz for practicing the phonetic alphabet
Vocabulary trainer and vocabulary list with over 100 aviation-relevant terms
"Dark Mode" for those who prefer to use daylight for flying (on supported devices)

*If radiocommunication rights are acquired through an aviation authority, other question sets will be used, the content and sample solutions of which differ from those provided by the Federal Network Agency.
