Sorry folks, but this app is about 40 minutes off from where Polaris and the NCP should be positioned. Using Starry Night, Stellarium and Sky Safari software to verify Polaris' position; I have to position myself 3 more degrees west longitude to get your app to match. I've been doing astrophotography for years and it's too far off for me to use this app...especially when GPS resets. Great idea and nice interface. But I can't use this app with this much error. K. Isn't even close to accurate. I allow it to access my GPS. App shows correct lat and lon, and time. Then it shows polaris at about 1:30 on a circle and says "position polaris in the scope at 1:21. Hour angle 9:16.". What is an "hour angle"? It's currently 8:04 pm edt. Also this app shows polaris at 1:21 relative to pole, whereas Google sky shows it at about 7:00. I think I trust Google sky over this app.

A couple of criticisms off the bat: a) is this how it looks on the sky or in the finder of a scope on which case is it straight through or image erect but reversed. This app doesn't make that clear. B) some other field stars would make the alignment process easier.

Dear Andrew, we follow most scopes and have the image reversed. You can tell by looking at the hour angle (HA) and the position of the pole star provided by the app. Indeed, the HA is provided, among other things, for this very reason. Still, we will consider your feedback. Thank you.
