Keeping a tidy and accurate logbook can be scary and complex. It only got worse with the advancement of new technology. At first, this technology made us a promise. A promise to make things better and help us improve.

In practice? We have powerful ways to analyze all sorts data. However, it came at a cost. A cost of spending time trying to navigate a complex user interface with a million fields to track what was a simple and fun as flying.

As a result, many of us delay updating our logbooks. Or worse yet, don't keep one altogether. Until one day, something happens. We need to ensure that we are still current for a certain type of mission or go to the review stage of our exciting flying career opportunity.

We were caught unprepared. What now? We will need to spend hours catching up. Working like a detective to piece together a story from our memory and loose logs.

Then we finally finish. Or we think we did. And realize that things don't add up and all plans fall apart. We feel sorry and tell us that we need to be better pilots.
