The School Health and Wellness Programme (SHWP) is a flagship initiative of the Government of
India, jointly led by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of
Education (MoE). It aims to promote the health and well-being of school-going children through
structured health education and activity-based learning.
The SHWP app is a user-friendly digital tool that helps HWAs take pre- and post-tests, record
classroom activities, and refer school-going children for health support. It also allows Master Trainers
to create and manage HWA training sessions. This app is now available on both Android and iOS.
Key features of the SHWP app include:
• Register as a HWA or Master Trainer, manage training sessions, and switch roles effortlessly
• Complete pre- and post-tests during the HWA training
• Recording of classroom sessions and uploading pictures from the session
• Referring students to public health facilities such as AFHCs, etc.
• Access to IEC materials across 11 thematic modules
• Create and manage HWA training sessions
• Overview of trainings / classroom activities and referrals
An active internet connection is required only for login and data sharing and the app does not collect
personal data and is not linked to any external site.
The SHWP app helps both HWAs and Master trainers to record and track their work effectively,
making it easier to follow SHWP guidelines and improve health education in schools.
