The Youth Football League (UFL) is a project to reform the system of youth competitions in Russia, a new solution for the reserve training system. The UFL unites players of different ages in one league, helping them develop in youth and then in professional football.
In the first season of the league, teams from 12 academies compete, consisting mainly of players born in 2002. The participants were selected by RFU experts based on the consolidated rating of football schools, taking into account the results achieved in the final tournaments of the Russian youth championship, as well as representation in the Russian national teams.
Moscow Spartak, CSKA, Lokomotiv, Dynamo, Chertanovo and Strogino, Zenit and SShOR Zenit from St. Petersburg, Krasnodar, Kazan Rubin, Master Saturn near Moscow and Konoplev Academy from the Samara region are fighting for the first trophy.
The season will end in May 2020, and the winner will be eligible to represent Russia in the most prestigious European tournament, the UEFA Youth League.
The Youth League is a new football reality for those who want to be the first and not like everyone else, who are ready to fight for the district, the city, to give their best to the end!
