The Saudi Orthodontic Society was established in 2006. It strives to raise the level of care and awareness among members of the community with the aim of fostering scientific and professional thinking in the field of orthodontics and enhancing scientific and professional performance in this vital specialty. The Society aims to contribute—through collaboration with the Ministry of Health and the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties—to setting standards for professional practice in the orthodontic specialty, monitoring its implementation, and maintaining those standards. It also seeks to raise public health awareness. The Society is a non-profit organization operating under the umbrella of the National Center for Non-Profit Sector Development and supervised by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties
