Live Weather Wallpaper is a simple to use, one-click app.

It delivers periodic weather updates along with high quality wallpaper images that correspond to the season and current weather conditions in your area.


Directions for use:
1) Download the Live Weather Wallpaper app
2) Open the app and proceed through the easy initial setup
3) Click the large, red activation button
4) Enjoy






*** Optimization Note ***

This app was designed for phones and is not currently optimized for larger tablets.

All of the features will still work on both phones and tablets however the weather images may be skewed, stretched, or pixelated when viewing on tablets.

I developed and built this app for an educational purpose. I enjoy making Android apps so I wanted to learn more about it and get better.

I do not own any of the weather images or facts used in this app.

The weather images originated from a number of different sources and are used under a creative commons license. The fun facts also originated from a variety of sources.

The source for the current weather wallpaper image and weather fun fact is clearly displayed on the related screen.

Ratings and reviews

It's not perfect, but it is good. There's no option to update automatically sooner than 1 hour (although I'm pretty sure mine does not update every hour). And sometimes, it just blacks out and you have to go refresh it a number of times before it turns back on. It's also not always very actuate. For example, yes, I'm currently under a thunderstorm warning but we've got bright blue sunny skies and high temps for the foreseeable future. It definitely is not raining.

I like this app a lot. It shows me the type of weather that is outside, especially when I am in the office with no windows. Occasionally, instead of showing a picture, the background is just black. I don't know why, but, if I just press the update, it normally rectifys itself. Thank you very much for allowing us to use your app. 12 months later - this is still a really good weather app. Have been using it most of the time, and allows me to see the weather as a background on my phone.

Live wallpaper works very well and shows changing images of the weather outside with virtually no battery or memory use. The images are sharp and look great on my oversized phone. This live wall is unique, and I'm so glad I found it. Thank you very much, Sean!

¤ Due to android's background processing restrictions, the weather may not update as often as it used to but you can perform a manual weather update from the app's home screen

¤ Also the app now only requires approximate location to check the weather and it obtains a new locations each time the app is opened
