Get more from your visit to Farnham with our free, easy-to-follow self-guided trails, such as our tree trail, arts trail, and more. Each walk is clearly set out on an interactive map and the Places feature includes location highlights to add to the story of Farnham and show you the best local places for heritage, culture, food, drink, shopping and entertainment.
Each trail uses a map and waypoint pins to take visitors through interesting, fun and pretty routes in and around Farnham in Surrey. Key information like distance, time needed for each walk, an overview map and what you will see is included.
The app uses Google Maps, GPS and our clever features to make navigation super easy. No frustrating wrong turns or confusing directions and once you have passed a waypoint it changes colour on the map to show you have already been there.
Stop and rejoin trails at any time or restart a trail from the beginning. To get the best from the app, you will be asked to give permission for it to access your data and location services. Switch between Street View and Satellite to view the maps how you prefer. Customise your experience further by switching features such as Place alerts on or off, and change the font size and colour to suit your needs.
Spot an interesting building or intriguing location? Want to find places linked to a specific theme? Simply apply filters to the app’s Places feature. We have added pictures and content on some of our top highlights. You can see these at any time or, when you visit a featured Place for the first time on a trail, the app will alert you (just make sure you reach each Place in the correct sequence to trigger the alerts).
When new content is available, it will be available to you straight away (or the next time you open the app) so unlike an old fashioned guidebook, the app is always up to date. And unlike other walking guides, Discover Farnham is brought to you and maintained by Farnham itself; people who live and work in Farnham and nearby villages, which means you get to experience Farnham like a local.
