About this app

The app is used to set up and configurate the physical Sofabaton remote. The app uses Bluetooth signal to communicate with the Sofabaton remote control, giving access to the full database of IR code for home entertainment devices, such as TV's, SoundBar's, DVD's, etc. Devices can be set up by searching online IR code database or directly learning from original physical remotes. The app also gives you access to customizable functionalities such as assigning unique keys to certain buttons on the Sofabaton remote or creating macro key sequences so that you can enjoy the convenience of achieving certain activities by simply pressing one button.

Definitely some data tracking and selling going on. Will not let you avoid precise GPS access. As if my remote couldn't be found otherwise... App functions are otherwise spot on. Easy to configure. Remote works great. Learning from other remote is finicky, but doable (tables help). Shared user profiles helped me use some more obscure audio equipment flawlessly.

I find the mobile app slow but sufficiently useful after converting to Sofabatons, having been a long time Harmony remotes user. I would still like a desktop app for set up, perhaps browser based, so I can store my configuration backups locally rather than only in the cloud. However, I will ding this app a full 3-stars for suspiciously requiring PRECISE LOCATION permission to function. Given its operation, why does it need any location data at all?

They try. I mean. The app was easy to follow. The remote thing is great. But they focused on tv only. No ac or other devices supported ( who owns a dvd player). And yes, copy won't work with ac since these remotes sends a chunk of info on every press (the temp fan, etc. Every time) I set one tv. Then, I left the remote. Came back. The app is like the first time asking to pair the remote. Pairing no longer works. They need devs that actually use the product.
