Cube Escapes were weird, but fun. This was absolutely bizarre and not fun. Many of the puzzles didn't feel "natural." (Sorry. That's the best way I can describe them.) Pointing, dragging, and tapping through either completely useless areas or areas I'd been through before was incredibly tedious. The replay value is just non-existent. Rusty Lake needs to get back to doing what they did best.

I ended up binging all the Rusty Lake games. If them all, this is my least favorite, but it's still really good. What I didn't like was how spread out it was. For most Rusty Lake games, the puzzles are compressed into a single space, like a room. But this has a whole map to move through, and the puzzles require a lot of back and forth. Other than that, I liked it. The puzzles varied from easy to difficult and added yet another layer to the Rusty Lake lore.

I love all these Rusty Lake games. But I implore the developers to please hire some actual voice talent to do the voice overs and character lines. It's so obvious that it's some programmer doing ALL the voices, male and female, badly, sounding a little like Brad Pitt's notoriously awful accent(s) in that old vampire movie. It really spoils the magical atmosphere of the game that the graphic artists, musicians and designers have worked so hard to achieve.
