About this app

Recording road videos since 2009, DailyRoads Voyager works as a car blackbox, dash cam or auto DVR, continuously capturing videos and photos during your journeys. The app automatically records everything, but only important events are retained for future reference or as evidence. You get to choose what to keep, simply by touching the screen, even while you drive.

The video evidence can be invaluable in case of accidents, insurance fraud, police abuse, protection from crash-for-cash scams and differences of opinion with other drivers.

Key features:
- Continuous video recording, with user-defined length and video quality; sound can be included
- User-defined storage space on the SD card with cyclic recording; i.e. the card never fills up
- One-touch video protection allows you to keep video files for interesting road events during the whole journey
- Auto-protect video upon sudden shock (e.g. accident); configurable g-force sensitivity
- Automatically capture photos at user-defined intervals and resolutions; great for time-lapse photography
- Background video/photo capture, with optional buttons over other applications
- Auto start and shutdown based on car dock detection, Bluetooth and other options
- Videos/photos are timestamped & geotagged
- Automatically determine street address of protected videos/photos
- Display videos/photos location on a map
- Display speed, elevation, timestamp and GPS coordinates on videos/photos
- Option to change speed units (km/h, mph) and date format
- Overheating protection
- GPS can be disabled to reduce power consumption
- Brightness adjustment option allows less distraction when driving at night
- Built-in file manager, video/photo browser
- Uploads to DailyRoads.com
- Add title/description/bookmark to files
- App2SD

Pro version:
- no ads
- camera selection after installation
- uploads to Dropbox and custom servers
- option to automatically start the app after device boot and Bluetooth connection
- 1000 video overlay credits on the server

Enjoy, and have a safe journey!

I have been trying different dash cam apps and DailyRoads Voyager seems to be the best for me! It slices up your drive video into several mini videos of the time segments that you choose in the settings. It will keep storing those videos until you reach the storage limit size that you setup in the settings. Once you reached the storage limit it starts tossing out the oldest, unprotected videos and keeps on recording. That's a huge benefit for me so I don't have to keep up with file maintenance.

Easy to use, the only drawback is,, we can not zoom in the video while playing back the footage. This does not allow us to identify the plat number of other cars captured in the video unless the video is taken at a close distance. 18jan2024, rate it to 1 star only, since i could not do anything on recorded video, only can watch using it's own apps, cannot transfer or watching using others video apps

Indeed, the playback options within the app don't yet allow zooming in. But, you might already have a dedicated video player app installed on your device which can zoom in. If that is the case, you can play back with that app a DailyRoads video from the Files section. Long-tap on the file of interest and select the "Play with..." option.

Great app been using the free version for years and decided to help fund it as it's do good via this version.. Would be even better if there was a slight delay of 5 seconds in the auto startup when powered via usb to avoid false starts. Also a start only in landscape would be good. Plus can the developer add a feature to automatically start and stop location services (GPS) on the device as I often forget. Re the developer's response comments: Surely on the "Pro" version you could enable the control of the GPS. If a user wants a dashcam with an upload facility in the event of an accident, it will rely on speed and GPS positioning. Any serious dashcam app user is not going to worry about device tracking as its the whole point! I see why you think this, but consider that having the software control the camera and audio is far greater a security risk on a mobile from a users perspective, and this feature is something I'd expect from a dashcam anyway. Understandable on the Freeware version from a "trial" perspective. Please add it! Also re the auto "startup" in landscape while docked feature, the app seems to startup even in portrait when I connect the power and "beeps" as though its starts to record and shuts down. The options in settings in this regard are very confusing... can you separate "horizontal" and "vertical" please, both options mention it - so I'm unsure which I'm choosing, I think its correct!

Thanks for your support and suggestions. A customizable delay at auto-startup makes sense. In the app's camera settings you can also specify a fixed orientation (e.g. landscape). System-wide change of settings (such as the GPS option) is not possible by an app without additional permissions. This actually prevents some people to install the app.
