About this app

Al‑Anon Family Groups is a mutual support program for people whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. By sharing common experiences and applying the Al-Anon principles, families and friends of alcoholics can bring positive changes to their individual situations, whether or not the alcoholic admits the existence of a drinking problem or seeks help.

The Al-Anon program is based on the Twelve Steps (adapted from Alcoholics Anonymous), which we try, little by little, one day at a time, to apply to our lives, along with our slogans and the Serenity Prayer. The loving interchange of help among members and daily reading of Al-Anon literature thus make us ready to receive the priceless gift of serenity.

The official mobile app of the Al-Anon Family Groups is designed to provide an easy way for anyone affected by someone else’s drinking to find hope and help, whether they can attend a face-to-face meeting or not.

Ratings and reviews

I love the app because of it's supportive posts and meetings. However there is a bug that causes it to keep crashing. Clearing the cache doesn't work. I updated the app but it's still not working consistently. I am an Android user so the recent August update should have helped. Once this issue is resolved I'll update my review.

The groups, information, and accessibility of what the app offers for AFG members is outstanding. Love the meetings. However, the app itself has had numerous times of simply not working, or crashing constantly. Was doing well the last few weeks, now doesn't work at all on Pixel with newest update. I appreciate the work behind it, it's just much harder mentally and psychologically when I don't have access to the meetings I enjoy. It's more impactful than YouTube or Waze not working.

I just started using the app and so far it seems pretty good. When I start scrolling the news feed, the screen glitches up and down a couple of times before it let's me start scrolling. Also, I cannot update anything in my profile. I tried my picture and also some of the drop-down menus and it keeps telling me "network error".
