I do enjoy the nostalgia of Metal Slug. However it do well with mobile and monetization mix with it. As of now its glitches, the controls aren't that responsive, and the gameplay is clunky. I feel held back when moving and jumping around. The control aren't smooth and the button configuration are off to me. It should be a little more up beat. There should be an option for auto targeting and shooting. That way you can focus more on jumping and dodging and using skills.

Another cash in of a beloved favorite turned into a money vacuum where the vast majority of the game is automating it to play by itself. How boring. Was fun for about less than a day until the "notification Christmas" rears it's head and you spend more time in menus changing arbitrarily clothing to get a little bit more damage so you can finally not die because the regular soldiers tank your damage. It stops you from playing the game to do micro management. Never wanted that in Metal Slug. FRTFO

Metal Slug is one of my all-time favorite franchise games. Holds a special place with me. I've played it at arcades all the time with my brother growing up, even in arcades in Mexico, when we visited. I bought the NeoGeo mini to get that classic feel & I love it. But this iteration of Metal Slug doesn't feel right. Feels like a knock-off game you'd play on a website with free games back in the late 2000s. Bring back that classic Slug graphics and machanics please! Storyline was always on point!
