Turn photos, screenshots and documents into text you can copy, edit and share. abc OCR is a text scanner and image to text converter that works offline: text recognition runs on your phone, so your images are never uploaded. No account. No ads.

• Tap the camera button to scan a document. The scanner finds the page, flattens it and cleans the photo, offline.
• Pick a photo or a screenshot from your gallery, open an image from Files, or share it from any app.
• Tilted photo? Drag 4 corners to straighten it.

📊 TABLES AND TEXT IN THE RIGHT ORDER
• Text keeps its place on the page. Each value stays next to its label: "Serial No." next to the serial number, each item next to its price.
• Tables stay tables. abc OCR finds rows and columns offline, on your phone, and empty cells stay empty.
• See a table as a grid, or switch to plain text.

• Copy text from an image in one tap, or share it to Gmail, Keep, WhatsApp or any app.
• Save as TXT, CSV or Markdown.
• Save as Excel (XLSX), Word (DOCX) or PDF with Premium. The free plan includes 3 of these saves a week.
• Save to your phone, Google Drive or another cloud app, or set a default folder.

FAQ
Does image to text work offline, without internet?
Yes. Latin text works offline from the start. Other alphabets need one download.

Which languages are supported?
80+ languages in 5 alphabets: Latin, Chinese, Devanagari, Japanese and Korean.

Can I copy text from a screenshot?
Yes. Pick it from your gallery or share it to abc OCR. The whole image is kept.

Does it keep tables?
Yes. The app finds rows and columns and keeps each cell in its column. Save the table as CSV or Markdown for free, or as XLSX, DOCX or PDF with Premium.

Are my images uploaded?
No. Recognition runs on your phone with Google ML Kit. ML Kit sends Google basic diagnostics, such as the device model and error codes, but never your images or text.

amazing app! saw on reddit, yeah glad you said something. Worked great and a very fair no bravo sierra tryout. When you can get a feel without ads barraging...sold it right there. the 1.49 a mo is well worth it if it keeps you putting out great apps and not slamming with ads. Works, and keep us informed on new ones. Never would have found it if you hadnt chimed in there. A+

suggestion: export as pdf to keep text position, or at least html to have them positioned like tables. :O thx!!! S2 S2 S2. for colored images, make them black&white (saturation 0), adjust contrast, brightness, sharpness, shadows etc, to maximise the difference between background and text. after that it will work perfectly!

pretty sweet. 1.50 reasonable. be cool have anchor for auto folder in directory for the specific save or new scan so not juggle back forth. ty cool app! addition edit: also be cool if ya had floating tab somewhere on top of other apps or whatever for quick image to font access. to skip lookin through big storages. maybe also ability to have option for sloppy reads to get more showing up on camera to text. i suppose if ya have the time to make ability to identify even sloppy writing. ty

What’s new

• Listen: the app reads your scan aloud with the offline voices on your phone. The text is never sent online
• delete a scan from its own screen, or all scans at once in Settings › Delete all scans
• a short hint on Home shows that you can swipe a scan to the left to delete it
