About this app

Subnori translates playback audio and subtitles displayed on your phone. Prepare the required language models in advance to use on-device recognition and translation without an internet connection.

Two caption modes
• Audio captions: recognize playback audio from apps that allow capture and display translated captions.
• Screen subtitle translation: choose an app to share and select its subtitle area. Subnori reads the text and places the translation over the original subtitles.

Choose your languages
• Select English, Japanese, Chinese or Korean independently for the source and translation.
• The app interface supports all four languages. By default, it follows your phone's language, with English as the fallback for unsupported languages.

Captions that fit your screen
• Captions appear progressively, with distinct colors for finished sentences and translations in progress.
• Move and resize the popup, switch to compact mode and adjust background transparency.
• A translucent guide explains the popup gestures.

Before you start
• Requires Android 13 or later. Screen subtitle translation requires Android 14 or later.
• Speech recognition availability depends on your device and language. Check model availability in the app.
• Initial model downloads, ads and purchases require an internet connection.
• Apps that block audio capture or screen sharing are not supported.
• Automatic recognition and translation may contain errors.

The free version may show ads before and after caption sessions. Remove ads with a one-time purchase. Caption features are the same in the free and purchased versions.
