About this app

A reflected light meter with spot metering (using the device's camera) and an incident light meter (using the device's light sensor) in one app. Tested accurate against Gossen and Sekonic meters on most devices.

Can be used for any type of camera from film SLR to pinhole to cinematographic.

In addition to the two meters, the app includes a Color Temperature (White Balance) meter, a Reciprocity Calculator, an Exposure Convert, a Manual (Sunny Sixteen) calculator, a Depth of Field calculator, and an EXIF Reader.

I've been using this app for a long time. Comprehensive design, easy to use. But it misses some features: * non-linear calibration; many phones require different adjustment for low, mid and high values * 1/2 and/or 1/3 EV steps for filters up to 4 steps (ND16); there are colour filters that require more precise adjustment * possibility to add custom films to reciprocity calculator * support for even lower ISO. I suggest: 0.2, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1 (already there), 1.5

Hello! You can add custom ISOs in the custom values section. They are rounded to the nearest 1/10th (0.1), let me know if you need more granularity than that. I'll take a look at the other requests, thanks for the ideas!

Excellent, has never let me down. I mostly use it for film. Reliable in a variety of conditions incl. low light & backlit subjects. In camera meter you can select an area to adapt your exposure to favour highlights or shadows. Some glitches due to different devices, but the Dev provides fixes & workarounds. Worked well even on my 10yo phone. Would pay for it to support the Dev if I wasn't so broke. Edit 2025: -1 bc of locked features & ads. Still recommended, does the job & ads are unobtrusive.

This app is very useful for its calculation features but waaaaay off in terms of actual light metering. It looks like it meters fine on some phones and is off on others. If there was a way to somehow calibrate it individually on the user's phone (in my case Pixel7) compared to an actual professional light meter, this would be a killer feature and the app would easily be the best on the market. I will be happy to buy it then. Nevertheless, keep up the good work.
