WalkeremotePortal2 is an Android app that embeds the walkeremote.com
web portal inside a WebView, providing fast, persistent access to the portal without repeated logins. The app acts as a simple transmitter/receiver of messages: when the portal sends the appropriate commands, connected microcontroller boards or compatible universal hardware modules can have their respective ports triggered remotely. Additionally, the app can receive data from sensors and display values such as battery levels, temperature, and other measurements.
The portal and app keep the user session active (when allowed by site settings), enabling quick access and picture-in-picture use for multitasking. The site is continuously evolving and the author frequently experiments with new features — it is currently a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) meant to test user interest and gather feedback for future improvements. More functionalities will be gradually added to the portal to enhance its capabilities.
Key features
Embedded WebView for instant access to the portal
Maintained authenticated session for convenience (subject to site settings)
Acts as a message transmitter/receiver for triggering ports on microcontroller boards
Receives data from sensors and displays values such as battery level, temperature, etc.
Compatible with universal hardware modules commonly sold on major online shops
Supports picture-in-picture mode for multitasking
Blog section with technical notes and experimental content written by the author for study and testing purposes
Intended as an experimental MVP; features are updated frequently based on testing and feedback, with new functionalities added over time
Ideal for: makers, hobbyists, and experimenters who want fast access to the portal, the ability to remotely trigger ports on microcontroller boards or compatible hardware modules, and to monitor sensor data in real time.
