The WWL or World Wide Locator is born on 1 January 1985 and is the system to indicate the location of an amateur radio station using a code consisting of 2 letters 2 digits and 2 letters eg. JN55CE.
The World Wide Locator divides the Earth into 18,662,400 rectangles with a margin of error of about 5 km.
