The Book of Law or what is known as the Pentateuch is the first five books of Moses in the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. It is also called the “Torah” in Hebrew but Torah is not law but instructions. Torah means ‘to hit the mark’ for to sin is to ‘miss the mark.’ Therefore, the people of God in Israel were given instructions in order for them not to sin against God and obtain His blessings.
